The focus on mental health and wellbeing is ubiquitous these days. We are all aware that mental health is as important as physical health, but we do not always know how to act accordingly. The struggle lies in the fact that we also live in a performance society, and currently high mental performance often comes with a price: a decline in mental health. The biggest challenge ahead is to combine the two: how do we invest in both mental health and excellent mental performance?

In this workshop, we take a closer look at key aspects of mental wellbeing, how to deal with emotions, and how these can influence our connection with others. Investing in mental wellbeing has a clear positive impact on your mental skills and overall functioning. We also explore mental performance strategies, stress detection and -management, as these factors can also affect your mental wellbeing. We reflect on the signals we need to be aware of and how to respond effectively. Finally, we assess how we manage our attention and focus in order to function in an energy-efficient way.
