OUR VIEW ON INTERVISION

We believe that real behavioural change does not happen in a training room, but in the day-to-day reality of the workplace. That is where challenges appear. That is where it becomes clear that pressure on time, relationships and systems can cause things to get stuck. At that moment, space for reflection is needed to understand what is happening beneath the surface. In practice, however, people often take too little time for this. Even though slowing down is necessary in order to speed up.

Intervision is the ideal setting where learning, reflection and action come together. It offers a safe environment in which participants can bring in their own cases, learn from each other’s experiences and gradually embed new behaviours.

Intervision focuses on situations where the person presenting the case has influence over the issue. This means that an intervision question always has both a professional and a personal side.

  • Professional: because the starting point is the work itself.
  • Personal: because the way you deal with the issue (your behaviour) becomes part of the discussion.

There are different ways to measure the impact of intervision, from a basic impact measurement to a more extensive approach. Together with you, we are happy to determine which form best fits your needs and the time available.

OUR APPROACH

  • Group size: Maximum 12 participants. This allows for maximum personal impact and sufficient individual attention.
  • Composition: If groups already exist that have a certain level of trust, this is an excellent starting point. These groups can be complemented with new participants if needed. Ideally, intervision groups work without hierarchy, creating a safe environment for genuine peer learning.
  • Start: During the first intervision session, we will focus on the importance of trust. A large part of this “kick-off” session will be dedicated to building that trust. We believe that creating a strong sense of connection and trust in the first session leads to a high level of commitment in the following sessions. Commitment to attend, but also commitment to openness and learning from one another.
  • Facilitation: An experienced coach who specialises in behavioural change is crucial. This has a major impact on the success of an intervision session. An experienced facilitator ensures safety, structure and depth. Sessions are preferably facilitated face-to-face.
  • Number of sessions per year: Each group typically has between one and four intervision sessions per year, depending on the needs of the group and the organisation. This rhythm supports focus, engagement and continuity. We deliberately choose quality over quantity.
